Philantropia is a global fundraising consulting organization based in New York City, Amsterdam and Kathmandu. With offices in the US, the Netherlands and Nepal, and additional staff located in Haiti, Germany and Egypt we are a truly international team. Erik Detiger
Erik Detiger has over two decades experience working in the field of international philanthropy and fundraising. As a highly successful international project manager and fundraising professional, he has raised millions in the non-profit field for numerous international projects from a wide variety of government agencies, foundations, and institutions. Eric is an expert in philanthropic fundraising and our lead consultant.
Dr. Eva Wieners
Eva Wieners has worked for the past ten years with NGOs on the grassroots level in Nepal, focusing on fundraising, capacity development, and the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices. She has worked on countless proposals for international foundations and organizations, gaining extensive experience in fundraising, particularly in the field of small grants. Before coming to Nepal, she worked in South America and Europe. She holds a certificate in grant management.
Priti Thapa
Priti is a development professional with years of experience as a director for an American humanitarian organization in Nepal. She is a published writer and researcher focusing on international development funding and grassroots NGOs. She holds a master’s degree in Business and works as digital marketer. She oversees the team that provides support to NGOs and site users.
Amrita Tamang
Amrita is a social work student with a keen interest to help people and work in the field of humanitarian. She has years of experience and knowledge in proposal writing, report writing, and data analysis. She now uses her acquired skills to contribute to research in the development sector. In her spare time, Amrita enjoys reading, traveling, and volunteering for various social causes.
Petra Chalmers
Petra joined Philantropia as a Program Associate in 2023. She has MSc's in Comparative Criminal Justice and in Political Science: International Organizations as well as a BA in Anthropology. She previously worked for a non-profit concerned with pressing social issues on the policy advocacy team, contributing to research and policy reports. She is interested in INGOs, human rights and policy.
Shraddha Pant
Shraddha is a development researcher and writer with a Bachelors in English. As a student of legislative law (LLB) and rural development, she is keen on working in development sector and is now focused on working for capacity building of grassroot NGOs that work as change agents and development of women. She is pursuing her Master’s degree in Sociology from Tribhuvan University.
Manju Thapa
Manju is a social work student with working experience with NGOs and INGOs. She has also been part of an International Citizen Service (ICS) volunteer. She is focused on working in the development sector with the aim of uplifting the dimensions of the grassroots level NGOs. Currently, she is doing her master's in English.
Janet Ilott
Janet is an international development professional with extensive experience in humanitarian emergencies, managing country offices, developing partnerships, and project management with a particular focus on building relationships with funders and community projects. Successful history of securing funds from international donors and foundations, as well as organizational development.
Sarah Moharram
Sarah is a researcher, development practitioner, and monitoring & evaluation, and community development consultant. Excellent understanding of international best-practice M&E, having significant experience conducting third-party monitoring & evaluation, including managing and conducting needs assessments, third-party monitoring, and midterm and final evaluation of humanitarian projects in conflict areas, particularly Syria.
